Julie you are not a spoiled brat. But you should not give those statistics room to rent between your ears. It's like I said, personality disorders are endemic in our species. Every day since I have been aware of myself has been a struggle of anxiety and self-worth. We are all our own worst enemy. We need to be our own best friend. Make peace. I really like that " you seen one, you seen 'em all" joke about penises!! Ha!

Julie, being in the family of hominids, specifically homo sapiens, means that along with the ability to walk upright and with the consciousness of your "mortal" and finite existence, you, like all in our species inherited a "personality disorder." It comes with the territory. Other creatures don't marvel at us for having a personality disorder. It's like the old vaudeville joke that Leonard Barr tells at the very beginning of the movie, "The Sting," when he says, "Two women are sitting in the movie theater and a guy sits next to them with his fly open and one woman says, "Hey Myrtle, this guy's zipper is open and he has two penises!" and Myrtle replies, "You seen one, you seen 'em all!" and her friend says, "Yeah, but this one's eating my popcorn!"

"Personality disorder? You seen one, you seen 'em all!"

And Sunday is a tough day for me, even at age 72; it brings back the feeling of school the next day or work the next day. It's "Severance Sunday" for a lot of us!!

And Julie, 6 good days out of 7 is usually reserved for Angels in Heaven!!

Thank you for your thoughts, Roy! Having a personality disorder is nothing I’d particularly compare to „you’ve seen one, you’ve seen them all“ quotes about penises haha

Now, I never intended to sound like a spoiled brat as I didn’t mean 6 “good” days but usually, I have 6 manageable days out of 7 - which is the result of a lot of effort and a lot of work put into my well-being for several years now; considering that for most of my life, it was basically vice versa, I count myself very lucky to be alive today.

Research shows that suicides rates are notably elevated, with approximately 8-10% of individuals with BPD dying by suicide. Additionally, BPD is associated with a higher risk of death from other causes, with some studies indicating a loss of 14-32 years of life expectancy compared to the general population.

I think I know what you mean and I appreciate you saying that - I did make peace, mostly, but you make it sound like an easy task and that might invalidate a lot of people‘s feelings; especially when you’re still struggling with them and haven’t been able to find the help you need just yet - words are powerful as you know and jokes might feel stigmatizing <3

Well for sure it wasn't my purpose to stigmatize I was trying to be empathetic and trying to relate. You are a modern person I am an old man I don't speak the language like invalidating people's feelings. You know you have to walk in the other person's shoes and that's and that's impossible. Especially only reading a couple of sub stack posts . I can only relate to my own struggles. I think if a human being hasn't thought about suicide in their life they aren't paying attention. But I also think if a person hasn't thought about murder in their life they aren't paying attention to. However thinking about something doesn't mean you have to act on it. And my joke was just a cute joke of an old man it was more self-deprecating than anything. Here's a piece of advice don't be so sensitive. Look for the Silver Lining don't look for the Dark Cloud. Also I must say that I thought about copying the image of your notes on Sunday severance because I think it is very artistic and I'd like to post it on my wall. It really is a work of art. Good luck to you young lady. You have a lot going for you a lot more than a lot of people out there.

If all you can relate to are your struggles than stop trying to relate to other people's struggles; it's that simple, Roy.

I suggest you might benefit from a course in "reading comprehension," Jozef, because there is nothing in my replies to Julie that demonstrates that I was trying to "relate" to her struggles. Jozef, you seem to be "struggling" with comprehension; read my replies again, please.

I made observations about the concept of "personality disorder" in our species. The easiest way to discover that "personality disorders" are universal is to work retail; the author, David Sedaris made this observation when he was working as a elf in Macy's department store in their "Santa-Land" decade ago...it's Not politically correct: "At noon a large group or retarded people came to see Santa...these people were profoundly retarded...they were rolling their eyes and rolling their tongues and staggering towards Santa; it was a large group of retarded people and after staring at them for 15 minutes I could not tell you where the retarded people ended and the regularly New-Yorkers began; everyone looks retarded when you put your mind to it."

My observations are similar about "personality disorders" across the population; they are ubiquitous. That observation should offer solace...

I apologize for writing so much, Jozef, when you seem to be

"struggling" so with reading comprehension...good luck, Buddy
