Ah, Miss Julie, I am so sorry for your recent suffering and the residual remorse that follows. You know I know this all too well and my heart feels yours beat with mine in those palpitating punches of grief.
I also share in your multiple diagnoses… I got 6 including ADHD on top of my Borderline, Avoidant, and Paranoid personality disorders. In fact, after being put on Lamotrigine with my initial diagnosis nearly six months ago, I was medicated for ADHD just this last week, my psychiatrist hoping it would help with the processing of the DBT skills. My intelligence scores were excessively high on my testing, telling doctors that ADHD didn’t make sense, but my therapists kept perceiving indicators that it must be. I guess we’ll see how this third medication works.
What I love about you and this piece is your optimism for wellbeing and enthusiasm for taking control of your life. It’s inspiring to us all and a reminder that we all have the ability to be true to ourselves in the wake of madness.
Keep on being your bad self and love your bad self excessively 🖤
Multiple diagnoses gang - assemble! ✨😆 I’ll never understand how so so many practicing doctors obviously don’t think it’s necessary to update their knowledge on ADHD and the current state of research…a person‘s intelligence says NOTHING about whether someone has ADHD or not 💀
I’ll never forget what my therapist said: „I‘m convinced that the lack of research on ADHD symptoms in women is the main reason why so many girls and women develop BPD, bipolar disorder, depression and other mental health issues… because if you’d have been treated for your ADHD, if you would have been able to structure your life around and work with your neurodivergence at an early age… your BPD, anxiety disorder, depression… might have never had a chance.“ - which hurt…still does. But instead of drowning in self-pity we’ve decided to use this anger to raise awareness and I think it’s so beautiful to see so many of us doing the same right now 😭 the neurospicy female community decided to take action and help themselves since nobody else would - following our brightest, most beautiful example Marsha Linehan 🥹❤️🩹❤️🩹❤️🩹❤️🩹
People are always looking for happiness at some future time and in some new thing, or some new set of circumstances, in possession of which they some day expect to find themselves.
But the fact is, if happiness is not found now, where we are, and as we are, there is little chance of it ever being found.
There is a great deal more happiness around us day by day than we have the sense or the power to seek and find.
